Let me say in defense of CI Hospital, my father was brought in by ambulance in very bad shape. After being treated at Lutheran medical Center and Victory Memorial, both of which he discharged himself from (despite being very ill) Coney Island Hospital has proven to be the best hospital you could ask for. We never received so much as a call from the other two "hospitals" asking if my father was home-forget about safe. Granted, he's a grown man, but where is the accountablity of these other medical facilitis?
Since being admitted to CI Hospital, he has received unbelievable care and the staff knows what they are doing. As far as Coney Island being in a "bad" neighborhood, that reviewer should take a look around and see if he/she can afford to live in areas surrounding the hospital. I live in Sea Gate, where you can not even look at a house for less then 600,000 dollars. I would not hesitate to bring my CHILDREN to this fine hospital, because due to the high volume of cases they treat on a daily basis, they do a DAMN fine job!
