Do Not Take Your Animal Here!! 10/18/2007

We brought our puppy here when she was having a hard time breathing after being diagnosed with pneumonia earlier that day by her regular vet, after first being diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection the previous week. This facility did not have the adequate equipment to take care of her the way she needed and they didn't tell us this until it was almost too late. Once we figured out what she needed, we had everything ready to go and another vet on the way to pick her up to transfer her to his hospital. Conveniently right after they heard this news, they called and told us our puppy died of "cardiac arrest" even though I had just spoken with them to get an update on her and they said her heart was in excellent condition. Not only did they not treat our puppy right, they did not treat us right either. Here we are, spending thousands of dollars to get our puppy well and all they cared about was the money. They had absolutely no compassion whatsoever. We would go and visit our poor baby and after two minutes of seeing her they would say "we need more money". Obviously we were there to pay, but we wanted to spend time with our little one. Their bedside manner really sucks. They are heartless. They used our baby as a little guinea pig. To top things off, after she died and we called to say we wanted to come get her body so we could bury her next to our other deceased dog, they said "you owe us $108 before we'll release the body". We spent over $2300 in two days and they killed our dog and then over $108 would not give us the body. These people are just cruel. I would never recommend this vet to ANYONE. If you have an emergency, please try to find another emergency vet to take your pet to. I took my other dog here a few years ago because she started shaking her head uncontrolably one night and they said she was having "focal seizures" and put her on phenibarbitol and everything and charged us about $600. Well, the next day after reading about bulldogs online, I found out that "head tremors" are a common ailment for bulldogs. The doctors at this vet just want money. Her regular vet even said told me that and said it's normal for bulldogs to do that. Every vet should know that. Instead, they just wanted to charge an outrageous bill and put my dog through a bunch of crazy tests that she didn't even need to go through. The bottom line is that this hospital is just a money-hungry lab. They don't care about your animal and especially not your feelings at such a sensitive time. more
