On Sept. 23, 2007 I went to Yates Express Lube JUST for an oil change. The guy at the shop also suggested that I get my transmission fluid drained and refilled as well as the raditor fluid. I told him I only wanted the oil change and the transmission fluid flushed. He quoted me $123.00 for the oil change and the tranmission fluid flush (for a 1998 Nissan Maxima). I said ok and came back 30 min. later to pick up the car. He then said I owed him $136.00 plus tax. I said, you quoted me $123.00 though. The shop guy said he quoted me wrong on the quantity of fluids needed to put in my specific type of car. I paid the $136.00 plus tax anyways and went home. After I got home my husband and I looked under the hood of the car to make sure he actually put oil in, etc. We found a shop rag under the hood that they had left! So I proceeded to call Yates and tell the manager and the person that quoted me. They just apologized. I also mentioned that when you quote someone, even if you quote them wrong, you need to honor that price. It's not my fault they quoted me wrong. I'm under a tight budget, as are most people, and shouldn't have agreed to pay the extra $13.00, just because they quoted me incorrectly. All they gave me was an apology. I'm very unsatisfied with that place and will not ever go back to get work done on my car.
