I had a terrible experience with Dr. Lang as well. I went in with serious joint pain and she was dimissive, rude and simply suggested I lose weight (I was 9 pounds underweight at the time, she didn't read my chart beforehand to know and I assume I just looked pudgy in my sweatpants). She does not put much stock in clinical diagnosis and only seems to believe in the virtue of medical findings. Unfortunately, I had selected her practice and my carrier does not let me switch easily, so I had to go back. I had the good fortune of seeing Amy Kurzrok the next time, who is exactly what a general practioner should be. She was friendly, patient and caring---she even took time to discuss some concerns I had regarding an unrelated health issue. The staff isn't great...but in my experience, they rarely are---if you are in the same situation as me, I suggest you simply see Amy and do without Nikki whenever possible.
As a FN, Amy is a DO--I know there are debates about the "validity" of osteopaths versus MDs, but I have to say, I have had nothing but good experiences with DOs. Apparently, they are actually taught to listen to their patients in med school, imagine that! I do think part of why I trust Dr. Kurzrok is because I think she actually listens to me and is interested in my overall health, not simply solving the current ailment.
