The Knitting Room, located in East Arlington right around the corner from the Capitol Theatre and the wonderful Monroe Salt Works, is comparable to Wolcott's in Harvard Square, but smaller. The aim is the same--to provide not only supplies (yarn and materials) and patterns, but also to offer lessons and create a community of knitters. The selection of yarns seems varied and I assume they will do special orders, although I had no need for that at this time. The yarn is pricey, but no more so than what you would expect for natural and exotic fibers. Staff is friendly and not intrusive, so browsing is painless.
