New York style w/o the attitude in Silver Spring 7/17/2007

My name is Linda and I would like to tell you about a hair salon that I go to located in Silver Spring MD (Washington DC metro area). First I would like to start by letting you know a little something about me and my taste. I am a mom of 2. I have a 1yr old and a now 3yr old so my day is quite busy as you can imagine with my kids. The one thing I do enjoy like I believe every other woman is the pampering of my hair salon. Before having my kids I would travel to New York (SoHo) to get my hair cut, colored and high lighted. I loved their quality and great atmosphere .. but mainly it was the quality ! That's why I would travel so far and for that quality I didn't mind paying over $700 for my services. After having my first child I could not fly for medical reasons, which created a problem for getting my hair cut. I do not spoil myself very much but there are a few things that women should splurge on to keep our sanity and make us feel like Women. I was very upset and disappointed because i couldn't to my oasis in New York. I was talking to a girlfriend of mine and she highly recommended a hair stylist; her name is Roxi. Ya i know perfect name of a hair stylist. I decided to giver her a try. My girlfriend said nothing but great things about her. Well, I was ready to battle the congested Georgetown or Bethesda traffic in my mommy mobile. But she told me that her salon ( Alchemy Salon) was located conveniently located right off Rt. 29 and Rt. 495 in a new shopping center in Silver Spring. I was very relieved that I didn't have to go into congested DC or Bethesda and battle for parking. When I went to New York yes the congestion is awful but I took a taxi which may the trip so much more pleasant. I entered Alchemy Salon and wow....I instantly got that New York vibe but without the attitude. I had thus amazing tea while I was waiting for Roxi. The receptionist mentioned that her salon (Alchemy Salon) was featured on Home and Garden TV for their Tea machine. I got to sit back and relax on their plush sofa (not hard chairs like most salons) and enjoy my exquisite tea. I was brought back to Roxi and and she was sooo nice and real ! Not fake like most stylists.. I told Roxi my situation and that i usually travel to NY for my services. She set me at ease gave me her resume and I was impressed. I explained to Roxi what I wanted and she gave me great ideas of what can be done.. I then was walked to the hair washing bowl. These bowls are amazing the chair reclines back and lifts you up so you are comfortably getting your hair washed.. This something NY doesn't have. After Roxi worked her magic, I looked in the mirror and I gave her the biggest hug. I couldn't believe her talents. I am extremely happy with the Salon and Roxi. The salon I give an A+ and I give Roxi an A+++. I wanted to speak to the owner of the salon to tell him what a great stylist he has and to my surprise Roxi told me that she was the owner. I have referred all my friends and family to Alchemy Salon. I am just a mom that lives in Bethesda MD but i was treated like a A list celebrity at that salon. Oh ya try the tea. I would like to just comment that Alchemy Salon a Great Salons in the DC area and recommend that you might want to visit Roxi and her salon Alchemy Salon in Silver spring MD. But like I said earlier I am just a Bethesda mom. more
