Radio City Music Hall 4/23/2006

Radio City Music Hall is a New York institution. Having visited the great hall almost every holiday since childhood, I still marvel at its grandeur and majesty. This was THE place to see a first run film AND the Rockettes stage show (many people don't know this). It is now home to special events (the Grammys and Tony Awards), concerts and the ever famous Christmas Holiday Spectacular featuring those glamour girl Rockettes. Take a Stage Door tour of Radio City and see what makes it so special. Actually walk on the Great Stage and experience the hydraulic system in operation since the '30s! The stage is actually mounted on sections that rise on elevators (allowing for quick scene changes and special effects). And, that magical magnificient Wurlitzer organ (built especially for Radio City) has a sound like no other instrument. No matter which entertainer comes here, the Radio City House still steals the show. The Grand Foyer just emits elegance and still takes my breath away each and every time I visit. The inside is like a work of art. Radio City is considered the world's largest indoor theatre. And EVERY seat is a good seat because there are no columns to obstruct your view of the Great Stage. How great is that? Can you tell how much I like Radio City? more
