Or slightly less expensive very expensive textbooks, I should say. Brand new books at NJ Books are usually the same price you would find them at the University Bookstore, but the same is not true for used ones. NJ Books often sells its used books at a much lower price than the official bookstore, and they definitely have many more used copies. You can also find Rutgers imprinted goods like t-shirts, sweatshirts and shot glasses at more reasonable prices. There are only two real problems with NJ Books. The first is that at the beginning and end of every semester the place is a zoo! I hate standing in line forever packed to the gills in that tiny store (that's why I wait a week or two to buy my books). The other problem is that you give them your schedule and they get you the books. This means you don't get to look at the books and pick them up yourself and all, and you have to trust that they do it right. Sometimes they'll have the wrong book listed or give you the wrong one for some reason. Once I bought seven or eight books for a class and didn't realize they hadn't given me one of the books until the middle of the semester. The point is, the place is inexpensive, but you have to be careful to make sure you get everything you need. more
