Enchiladas Taste Like a Can, But Salsa Can't Be Beat! 4/16/2006

Hamlin's El Toro has long been a favorite of many residents of Muskogee. They have two locations, both small, cozy restaurants, with the candles on every table. Parking is very limited, and they do get crowded during the lunch hour and dinner rush, so it is best to try to visit during the "off hours". When you walk in Hamlin's El Toro, you automatically feel the coziness of the atmosphere. There are two rows of booths in each small section, nice tables, set with glowing candles, beautiful Mexican artifacts adorning the walls. The employees at Hamlin's El Toro contribute to the cozy feeling, treating their customers as close friends, and they strive to ensure that every customer enjoys not only their meal, but the entire experience. While I'm not a huge fan of certain entrees (mainly their cheese enchiladas, which are my favorite at other restaurants), there are definitely things on their menu that cannot be beat. They are very famous for their homemade salsa and white chile con queso. Many people stop in often, just to get chips and salsa to go. Hamlin's El Toro is a restaurant that many Muskogee residents have grown up with, and with their fan base, I'm sure that many generations to come will also be happy, loyal customers. more
