Rosies Bakery is a wonderful addition to the downtown scene in Wellesley. They have converted the space of a former Aux Bon Pain, quite nicely and thus one is transported into a new store. The store has a nice selection of fresh baked cookies, muffins, brownie style foods and cakes. The coffee is good and it's a local place, it's not one of the franchises that serve coffee located in close proximity. Rosies has two or three other locations in metropolitan boston and for the most part is a small family circuit of venues.
The ambience is nice. There is a table in the back of the shop with kids toys and books. There is ample seating so there is a cafe feel and the front of the store has lounge type seats, where one can flop and watch the folks stroll up and down central street. The sandwiches are generally good and the coffee is fresh and decent. You can sit undisturbed for a long time. There are also four tables outdoors under the awning so one can feel like they are dining Alfresco style almost into winter. The people that frequent the store are diverse and one is always watching students enter and work on their home work. This is a nice place year round, warm in winter, well air conditioned in the summer. Staff are young and friendly. Enjoy!
