My family isn't Mexican at all but we appreciate good food. We are just waiting for a holiday to celebrate so when Cinco De Mayo came we were anxious to have Mexican. Los Amigos was pretty good. I was a little bit leery from the reviews on the web but the restaurant did not smell like bleach and the food wasn't terrible.
I had the Chicken Fajitas. The chicken was well cooked with a tangy blend of spices and lime. The fajitas were homemade and were probably the best part of the experience.
Before we ate dinner we were brought homemade taco chips and salsa. The chips needed salt, but we were able to remedy that.
The atmosphere tries to be "authentic" but falls short of achieving it. Light up green signs, Mexican hats and a stucco facade do not make an authentic experience.
I enjoyed the experience and the food was good but personally I will look for other Mexican restaurants before returning to Los Amigos.
