My daughter attended Shelterwood for about a year. She was in a very dark place when I decided to send her there. I really think Shelterwood saved her life. Through a lot of counseling, Ryan was able to earn her trust and make her feel in a safe environment where she finally learned to open up and speak about her feelings and not keeping them bottled up. Some parents/students expect to come out of there a “finished product” but you have to be willing to work towards healing and change life-long behaviors. I speak for myself when I say that I also learned a lot about my parenting skills and how to improve them. And for that, I’ll be forever thankful.
