FIRST IMPRESSION CAN NOT RATE ONE STAR! 1/15/2007

I GUESS I LIVED MY WHOLE LIFE THINKING THAT A SHELTER WAS LIKE A MEDICAL FACILITY. DOGS AND CATS WERE TAKEN CARE OF PROPERLY UNTIL EITHER THEY WERE ADOPTED, TAKEN HOME BY THEIR OWNER, OR SADLY PUT TO SLEEP. BOY, WAS I WRONG! MY SON AND I VISITED THE ANIMAL PROTECTIVE LEAGUE ON SATURDAY LOOKING FOR A FAMILY PET AND COMPANION. DOES "NON PROFIT"MEAN THAT IT IS OKAY FOR THERE TO BE 3 TO 6 DOGS PER KENNEL, FREEZING, ALL WITH DIAHREA, AND COVERED IN ITS OWN FECES, SO MUCH THEY HAD TO WALK THROUGH IT. THAT IS , IF THEY DARED TO LEAVE THE HUDDLE THEY WERE IN TO TRY AND KEEP FROM FREEZING TO DEATH. IT WAS 31 DEGREES OUTSIDE. MAYBE I AM NIEVE, BUT I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING ANY JUSTIFICATION FOR THE CRUELTY. THE DOGS WOULD BE BETTER OFF DEAD. THE SHELTER ONLY SERVES TO PUT THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN WITH THE PUBLIC WHO SEEKS TO ADOPT.BECAUSE IT IS OBVIOUS, THERE WOULD BE THE FURTHER EXPENSE OF A VETERNARIAN .FROM MY PROSPECTIVE, THIS SHELTER IS SABATOGING ANIMAL LIFE. IF I AM WRONG, AND THIS CAN BE JUSTIFIDE, PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME. more
