A special place, Daanen's is a real German style Deli with Brats, Sauerkraut, and some of the best hot German potato salad I have ever tasted! The specialty imported Beer is one of the things they are famous for. They also have an enormous offering of fine wines. Probably one of the most popular things they sell are their sandwiches that are made to order.The lunch crowd of regulars speaks loudly about the quality and consistency this place provides. You walk in and on the counter is a pad with all of your choices listed...bread, cheese, meats, condiments..you put an x by the items you want. You put your name on the top and turn it in, minutes later, after you have had a chance to drool over the salads and other freshly made items in the cold case, your sandwich is ready. I love their pea salad. You can tell it is made with real bacon. It is comfort food. With the deli's recent expansion to their new location, they have more room for dining, and have added a bar to sit at and enjoy their beer and wines. They also offer tastings anytime,and special ones on Friday evenings.
