I highly recommend coming to the Community Resolution Center if you're ever having a dispute with someone that you do not want to take to court. The resolution center has volunteers that have had training approved by the State Court Administrators Office of Michigan. These volunteers are trained to be mediators and have experience in helping people come to agreements between themselves. Often this is cheaper than going to court and paying court costs and attorneys fees. There is a nominal fee for the service of $35 per party, but if your mediation is court ordered than the first mediation is free of charge. It's a great place to go if you want to work things out in a friendly environment.
