I have always loved pears but never could find anything that tasted like the ones my husband's father use to grow in is front yard when I were dating. There was a tree on either side of the driveway and as we were leaving we would reach out of the car windows and pull a pear from the tree. Papa would yell, "Leave my pears alone."
