You need to have a phone line for the monitoring service and sign a 3 year contract. But - do the sums, you'll see that this works out cheaper in the long term than others. If you move house within the 3 years then you can opt to carry your contract to your new house (obviously it has to have an ADT alarm, or you get another fitted).
