I am a little discouraged with Lowes new practice to charge you an up front fee for things like doors, etc. You can no longer measure your own door and go in and have them pull the door you want to purchase. Instead you have to pay them $35.00 to come out and measure for themselves and this amount does not get credited to your purchase. Obviously, this was caused by people who measured wrong and then wanted to return something. I feel the correct thing for them to do would be to charge the people who did this instead of just everyone. My husband is a pretty proficient carpenter and knows how to measure things correctly therefore, we should be able to do that ourselves without having them do it. This practice also adds days to the time involved in a project.
