I am writing this review based on my impressions and the professionalism of the contractor Greg DiBernardo. I have not hired him and will not hire him. He came to my home for the initial meeting about a deck project. Let me preface this by telling you that on the phone he encouraged me to NOT get a building permit even though my town requires it. That was my first red flag. Then when he came to the house after I asked him a few questions he got testy and told me if I was building the deck from scratch I would have to pay by the hour for his design consultation, that he was not in business to give out free designs. I was only asking him questions to ascertain his knowledge and aesthetics for the project at hand. At the end of our meeting I then asked him to give me references with his proposal. He then got testy again and told me if I needed to call references that made him feel as if I didn't trust him AND if I didn't trust him, then maybe I wasn't the kind of person he wanted to work for. I felt like he was trying to bully or intimidate me. It was very strange. And he told me I should just google him since he is a leader in the field. So I did. The first thing that popped up was an article he wrote for a trade magazine on how to increase profits by upselling your customers with extras or add ons to the original project. I would think twice about using this company. He has a very slick website but he seems to hiding something.
