I like to take my family to Applebees. We don't go too often because I find the prices a bit high for the type of food but not unreasonable. Also, the food is good and just a little bit different from the places we usually go to.
For instance, Applebees has delicious French Onion soup. For an entree, I like their crispy orange chicken or the riblets are also good. They also have a decent kids menu.
The atmosphere in Applebees is casual. There are usually interesting things to look at on the walls.
Service at Applebees is not consistent. When it is good, it is really good but when it's bad, it's really bad! We have also had times when the restaurant has been out of a number of items on the menu. I know it can happen but it's happened several times and it's usually several items at a time. There really is no excuse for this! I have to say though that this happens at a different location even more frequently than this one!
