Plumpton Park Zoo is a small local zoo in the town of Rising Sun, MD. It is minutes from the PA border and about 10 minutes from the DE border as well so very convenient for a lot of people.
Now, this is a small zoo but it is still very nice. All of the animals are in somewhat natural environments which is nice to see and they all have very large areas to roam and hang out. They have a lot of animals for a small zoo too including giraffe, bison, camels, llamas and so many more.
This zoo also has a picnic area and a playground area for the kids. They have a few vending machines but it's best to pack your own picnic and stay for the day!
