My son was nervous when I suggested he take up martial arts classes to help deal with bullies at school, believing it would make him no different from them. Now he knows martial arts is about being assertive not aggressive. The instructors at Progressive Martial Arts in New York have taught him so much, not just about martial arts but about respect, discipline, self-control, leadership and goal setting. The teen classes combine JKD, Muay Thai and grappling, and teach the teens to avoid dangerous situations. I'm glad I got him involved.
