This Maspeth staple has been on Grand Avenue for as long as I can remember. Its friendly atmosphere and warm service have given it the reputation of a wonderful family establishment for years. The highlight of Walter’s is surely the sauerbraten dinner, which is only available once a month and must be pre-ordered. A hearty helping of beef comes alongside delicious dumplings and sweet red cabbage. On an ordinary day, there is a great variety of specialty sandwiches to choose from.
