We have warped standards for chocolate in this country. I love Godiva, but it is not all that. It worries me to see people rave about it like it is a new god come walking among them or something.
Godiva has pretty good chocolate, and then they fill it with all kinds of crazy stuff that is often too sugary or just too weird. If my chocolate is good, I probably don't want it filled with an infusion of mango and passionfruit mixed with chopped almonds and whipped into a giddy frenzy. I can live without that. Just like I can live without out-of-season strawberries dipped into chocolate and sold for five dollars. Can't you?
