The Common Ground isn't as much a haven of jerks as a lot of the other bars in the area are; I assume, by their name, that was their intention. There are paintings of reggae stars and cultural icons on the walls, johnny cash, che, and bob marley come to mind. The place is clean and friendly in the afternoons. It's a good place to get fresh beer on tap from an Irish bartender - and it's only a quarter to up your pint to a 20oz, where else could you get 4oz of Guinness for a quarter?! Their food is reasonably priced and usually in big portions (think nachos). Their butterbean burger is a good choice for vegetarians, just make sure they put all the sauces on it, or else it's kinda bland. Love nights and ipod nights are big dance parties - hearing Pulp's "Common People" happens probably too often to be considered ironic at the Common Ground.
