Olive Garden 9/13/2006

Olive Garden's menu has the standard Italian options you would expect but also includes salmon, many chicken, beef & pork dishes, pizzas and filled pastas. Try the Ravioli di Portobello! This portobello mushroom-filled ravioli, is sreved with a creamy smoked cheese and sun-dried tomato sauce. You'll need a breadstick to sop up the sauce it is so good. (The breadsticks are very good, I always end up eating more of the breadsticks then I should! ) Also available, for the calorie minded, is a large selection of low fat and low carbohydrate options, they are highlighted with a olive branch on the menu. Capellini Pomodoro which is Cappellini with roma tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil and extra-virgin olive oil tossed with capellini. This is my favorite pasta! If you have room in your belly ;-) after dinner try the Tiramisu! I will take home most of my dinner so I can have Tiramisu! (The classic Italian dessert is Tiramisu. Tiramisu is - A layer of creamy custard set atop espresso-soaked ladyfingers.) MMMUUUM! The only issue I have is how they automatically walk to your table with a wine bottle & ask several times if you want wine. I do not drink so I feel this is pushy. Oh I almost forgot the - salad that is served before dinner is crisp & very fresh! And it seems like it is a never ending bottomless bowl they will fill it as many times as you want. The wait staff is always busy filling glasses & cleaning tables, with a smile! This is a good place for a nice family dinner! more
