Mmm...books. How to describe the joys of Book Barn? Let's see...
1. You pull into the little parking lot, and there are buildings scattered around you. And they're all full of books. Glorious used books, all being sold for cheap, everywhere you wander. See, it's barns, and they're full of books.
2. There are cats and kittens and dogs everywhere, perfect for grabbing a book and cozy chair and test-driving that huge volume you were considering.
3. There are snacks and coffee to fortify you as you search for good books.
4. These folks have a great sense of humor - like Hades, a small barn filled with paperbacks. Why do they call it Hades? Because NOTHING is alphabetized!!! The only thing joining those books is that they're paperback! Arrrgh!
5. It's easier to find things in the other barns, if you're looking for something in particular. The books aren't smelly or musty - they make sure of that. And you can find almost anything for which you may be searching...and usually a couple of things you didn't yet know you needed.
They're open 9am to 9pm every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving. Go splurge.
