Zum Schneider is a German beer bar in Alphabet City known for its proud tradition of celebrating all things German, more specifically their beer. Staffed mostly of German-born or German-speaking employees, only food native to Deutschland is served. It's a hit or miss menu, but that's not really why people come. The beer is a carefully edited selection German beers, appealing to palates from very light to extra dark. In the summer, tables are set up on the sidewalk where you can chat with friends or stare at the beauty that is Avenue C.
