I have to admit I have a soft spot for Bernie Fields since my husband bought my engagement ring at the original store in Middletown 40 years ago. It has proven to be a beautiful and lasting memento and I have bought many things there over the years.
I was very happy when they reopened in Westbrook and spent a delightful half hour chatting with the owners and looking over their very upscale and interesting inventory. I settled on a very pretty garnet bracelet.
The design here are unique and the store is so bright and open. A very unusual jewelry store, not the same old same old.
