I was a student at Wanda's Cadettes from the ages of 3-15 years old. I began to student teach at 12 years old and began to take on my own students at 15. I left to go to college at 18 and have not been able to go back to the studio since then to teach. I am now 25 years old and reside in Pittsburgh. I feel I am the person I am today because I had baton twirling in my life. I am a confident, well-spoken individual that is not afraid to speak my mind. Baton taught me how to be disciplined and responsible. I had a lot of things to manage while I was in high school. I was the head majorette, captain of the cheerleading squad, I taught teams, classes, and private lessons, and I had a 2nd part time job at Giant. I learned how to multi-task at a young age, and that helped me throughout college and in my career today. I am a competitive person due to my years of baton competitions. Since I am competitive and strive for the best, I have had 4 promotions since college. I have been able to move up the corporate ladder very quickly.
Baton is a wonderful stepping stone to the rest of a child's life. Wanda and her daughter Missy are great role models for any child.
