My kids actually LOVE going to the dentist!
We have been going to Dr. Horton for 5 years. When we go there the staff are always friendly. They actually know us by name/sight.
I have 3 kids, 2 of which go to the dentist on the same time & day. I bet I could get all 3 in on the same time, but then we would be off our 6 mos check up schedule.
They place the kids each in their own dental room near each other, so I can switch back and forth w/out effort to check on the kids & to talk w/Dr. Horton.
They offer the kids Game Boys to play with while there, sunglasses to use while the bright light is on. The whole process of cleaning and checking & fluoride is done in a casual/comforting way. The techs do not rush through anything, no matter how frustrated or cranky the kid is. They constantly praise the kids.
Xrays are a breeze w/the kids. Even fillings are a breeze and painless for the kids, Dr. Horton is very gentle with them.
At the end of the visit, the kids get a bag w/ a new toothbrush (the kids pick it out), floss or flossers, toothpaste, and sometime a sticker. then as I check out at the front they have a wheel barrow stocked full of neat toys, they change these very frequently. The kids love digging and digging in there to see everything. My kids and I always thank everyone and head home. What a wonderful experience at a dentist. Dr. Horton is truly the greatest!
