I was a patient, but no more 4/21/2006

I was a patient of Dr. Camille Hersh for several years, but I'm leaving this practice because they dropped my insurance plan. However, even if that had not been the case, I might have left them anyway. For every "good" they had, there was also a "bad." Good examples: they went to an automated phone system to get test results, so you can get them at your convenience. Also, the Dr. proactively asked holistic questions about my health. I never had a GYN who recorded and advised about calcium intake, how much exercise I get, etc. Bad Examples: the Dr. was WAY overscheduled, and as a result was always late for appointments, by 15 mins up to an hour. When they dropped my insurance plan, they didn't notify me, though they had made that decision five months prior to my appointment (on a good note, when I called to protest the charges from that appt., they said I wouldn't have to pay. On a bad note, they forgot and billed me anyway & I had to call and "remind" them that they agreed to dismiss the charges!). Dr. Hersch lets her religious beliefs seep into her medical advice. I strongly support a person's right to practice religion, but a doctor should be objective when giving health guidance. more
