Threre are two professions I always fear when it comes to having work done by them. Dentists and Plumbers. My past experience with both is they always manage to find questionable work to be done and always charge you an arm and a leg.
So when my 104 year old Mom's drains backed up I found myself searching the internet hoping to find a plumber who at least had a few former customers with something good to say about them.
I finally settled on Art's Plumbing and very glad I did. Don came out within hours of my call to them and within short order had the problem diagnosed. Using a scoping camera, he showed me exactly what the problem was and outlined what the approach would be. Best case scenario was a routing to clear the drain and worst case in terms of expense was a jet cleaning of the drain. The difference was over a $1000.
So based on my Dentist/Plumbing always feeling ripped off experiences of the past, I pretty much figured on the jet cleaning as the solution.
Well, Don got that router going and worked it and worked it and son of a gun if that didn't solve the problem. I was like, "You sure you don't need to jet clean it?"
He smiled and said the drain was good. He did show me with the camera a low spot in the drain that could be an issue down the road and gave an estimate on how much it would cost to fix. But for now it was ok.
He also gave me some advice on how to keep the drain clean - to flush it out every three months with a nozzle and garden hose.
So, for one of the few times if not the first time, I had a good, no make that great, experience where I for sure thought it was going to be bad.
Thank you, Don, and Arts Plumbing for a job well done!
