This is an excerpt from a letter I wrote to Dr. Graziano. The letter was dated 12/15/05. They don't have the most modern offices in the world, but their people are EXCELLENT! --
When I came to see you the first time about my plantar fasciitis, I couldn’t walk but a few steps without pain. With your guidance, we tried everything for my feet – taping, anti-inflammatories, both oral and injected steroids, physical therapy and finally, surgery. Each time I would hobble into your office, I was greeted with a smile and no matter how painful either my feet or the treatment was (and you know how I reacted to it – I almost fainted) your smile and upbeat attitude made all the difference. It is difficult for me to always be polite when I’m in pain but somehow you saw through all that and treated me like I was the only and best patient you had had all day!
Thanks to you and the surgery you successfully performed in September, I am now back on a regular exercise program. This week I ran almost two miles with no pain. I feel like a new woman! The relief is incredible and I am so grateful to be able to walk (or run!) with no pain shooting up from the bottom of my feet. Also I’m grateful that I no longer have to take any pain medication of any sort. Part of this past year I was in a fog from having to take them just to get around (and I thank you for prescribing them for me, otherwise I’d have been unable to function). Thanks to you, I am pain free and pain-medicine free and ready to take on the world.
This letter would not be complete without my thanks to your staff as well. Each time I’d come in, they would gush over my baby, ask how I am doing, etc. One time we went to the Alexandria office by mistake and they even called the Annandale office to say that we were on our way and it wasn’t a big deal. So many places are really nasty when it comes to scheduling issues, it was very nice to deal with a staff that understands that we’re all human and therefore sometimes make mistakes.
If I meet anyone, anywhere, with any podiatric condition, I will recommend you with an enthusiastic “two toes up!”
