Sumter has very few Mexican restaurants. One of those is San Jose Restaurante Mexicano. I’ve been there three times, and I haven’t been happy at all. Service is relatively slow, and the restaurant doesn’t have a “clean feel” to it. I spend several years in southern Texas and have had some good Mexican food in my life. The food that this restaurant serves just doesn’t taste authentic. I recommend making your own dishes at home instead.
