The Capitola Book Cafe is one of the best bookstores that I have ever been to. Alex and I frequented the joint when we were living in Santa Cruz. Alright so you're having flashbacks of musty shelves and draggin your feet while your parents stare at the childrearing books, and try to figure out how to "improve you." Not the case here. Beyond the huge collection of books and magazines, and a cafe where you can go sit when you're tired, the Capitola Book Cafe is also a great place for listening to authors. The people they bring through the door are amazing. My first time there, I got to hear Sandra Cisneros read. Jeez, how do you top that? But they do.
