Pendleton House is a great vacation from the everyday. You could imagine yourself as a poet, artist, aristocrat, or any other sort of illuminati while you are lounging in the drawing room waiting for your table to be prepared. While you are waiting, sip on a local wine, a mixed drink, or a nice cold beer. When your table is ready you will be escorted into one of the many interesting rooms that comprise the house. My favorite table is one that looks into a nice pastel pink room full of items from the 40's and 50's. Interesting art, music, and conversation can be sensed all around.
The food is extraordinary. Often you find a restaurant, bar or coffee house that has great atmosphere but doesn't hold up when it comes to the food or the coffee. You don't have to make any excuses for the food not being up to par with the atmosphere at Pendleton House. Everything on the menu is brilliant and interesting. The appetizers are perfect and the deserts are the most superb I have ever tasted (rich and sweet but not too rich or too sweet). The experiences I have had at Pendleton House are always relaxing, interesting, and excellent. It is a restaurant that masters the art of catering to your personal tastes and providing a dining experience customized to suit you and your guests.
