I really have respect for the UGA community. I find it amazing, however, that anyone gets in straight out of high school, or for that matter that anyone tries to get in straight after high school. It's so much easier to get in as a transfer student. I transfered in 2nd semester junior year. I also added a second major. The combo of those two decisions added an extra year to my studies, but these days I really think that's pretty normal.
What I enjoyed most was that once you were in your major classes you stayed pretty much in the same building, had most of the same profs, and sometimes even the same students. This made it much easier to form relationships and friendships.
