Tasty Salvadorean Food 4/4/2006

Gloria's is a local chain of restaurants with six locations. Gloria's serves some Tex-Mex food, but the specialty here is Salvadorean food which is quite different. My favorite is still what I got the first time I went there, the Gloria's Super Special which is a good introduction to some of the Salvadorean food served there. This includes a tamale, pupusa (corn tortilla stuffed with pork), yucca (very starchy, tastes almost like a potato), a fried plantain (tastes like a banana), black beans, rice, and sour cream. Gloria's serves lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends. Some of the locations have live music and salsa lessons, though not the Frisco location. more
