Gloria's is a local chain of restaurants with six locations. Gloria's serves some Tex-Mex food, but the specialty here is Salvadorean food which is quite different. My favorite is still what I got the first time I went there, the Gloria's Super Special which is a good introduction to some of the Salvadorean food served there. This includes a tamale, pupusa (corn tortilla stuffed with pork), yucca (very starchy, tastes almost like a potato), a fried plantain (tastes like a banana), black beans, rice, and sour cream. Gloria's serves lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends. Some of the locations have live music and salsa lessons, though not the Frisco location.
