Love! Love! Love! Mike’s American Grill in Springfield. I love the “chain” of Great American Restaurants, but this is in a tie for my favorite w/ Carlyle. Their bread comes from their Best Buns Bakery and if you’re lucky they’ll have the beignets in the basket that day, but it’s all yummy. Oh, their smashed red skin potatoes are another favorite especially with the pork chops. But most often, I get the pecan crusted rainbow trout, and my mom does, too! The best tip is to call ahead to get on the wait list but they don’t take actual reservation.
