Sally's Beauty Supply is a great place for salon quality products. I really love the generic line--a lot cheaper than buying salon brands and they work just the same. It does cater to hair stylists/cosmetologists and such, but anyone can go in and make a purchase. They also have make up, make up brushes, hair dyes, shampoos, hair extensions, great salon quality hair dryers and straighteners, brushes...just about anything you need to be a do it yourself-er cosmetologist.
