This was never the greatest Filene's Basement around, but it has really gone downhill over the years. The store is so dingy and poorly laid out. The clothing selection, especially for women, is really awful. The prices aren't even that great. The staff seems miserable to be there, and the store is usually a mess. You might still find an okay gift, a home decorative object, or some underwear here, but good luck. You're much better off trying the Marshalls downstairs. The store is also pretty cramped, yet they really don't have anything good. I feel like I've walked into the lousy Woolworths in downtown L.A. when I was a kid in the 1970s. Yuck.
