The two best things about this store are their author/special events and their children's section. It's amazing that a small store in a suburban location can attract top authors on a regular basis. This is a real credit to the store (some events are held off site in order to accomodate a larger crowd). The store also has a great section for children. The staff is very knowledgeable and ready to help you out while not putting pressure on you in any way. The selection of travel books is pretty disappointing (particularly if you're looking for one of the less popular destinations), but it's understandable given their size. You can walk here from Newtonville Commuter Rail stop. Parking along one of the side streets is pretty easy if you don't luck into a spot in front.
