Bad Customer Service 4/17/2006

Samsung's unsatisfactory customer service is a problem of infrastructure more than anything. Many of the better businesses out there have the capability to handle all customer needs over the Internet. Samsung does not. If you do try to resolve an issue or report a non-functioning device through their sometimes buggy website, your message goes to a temp worker, who most likely will direct you, in an unprofessional and unsympathetic manner, in language reminiscent of an dyslexic 8-year typing on Battle.net, to call their service number. It only gets worse from here. Across the United States, Samsung subcontracts out all of the repair work, so your experience, let alone the quality of service, will vary from 'terrible' to 'it's still broken after you've been fixing my cell phone for six months' to 'they lost my plasma TV and will not replace it unless I agree to pay them $200.' The horror stories are many....stay away for now. more
