Head start is one of the best governmental programs out there. It's like a prep for kindergarten. They enroll in the spring and summer for the following fall. They work with kids to make sure they learn their abc's and much more. Kids get medical check-up and often make the first trip to the dentist. Students get free snacks and lunches. People qualify for the program because of financial circumstances (low-income) or because of special needs. If your child has a speech problem, any type of health problem or disability, it's worth looking into. They also love parent volunteers and many of the people who work there first became involved because their children were in head start. The best thing? This center has the best toys! Your kids will love them!
