(No, I do not hang with the rich and famous, but we all have something in common - a connection with this wonderful town of Evanston, IL)
This has always been one of my very favorite places to visit. When I was a kid, my mom and I would literally travel an hour and a half each way, on 3 forms of public transportation, just to spend the day in Evanston. I do miss some of the quaint charm of the 70's and 80's, especially the classic movie house and Fritz that's It (used to be on Chicago Avenue), but it's still a great place. And there is so much to do here. Wonderful restaurants, theatre, stores and a gorgeous lakefront. I always make a point of visiting their city beach or parks whenever I'm in the area.
