Millions of Chicagoans swear by the Chicago Tribune. And don't get me wrong, they are excellent. But for me, I am a fan of the Times, mostly because of Richard Roeper. Richard got me to care about this paper way back in the 80's. His funny, honest and heartfelt columns were a joy to read every day. And now he's a big star (along with pal Roger Ebert) and he gets to schmooze with celebrities and go to the Oscars. Lucky dog. The Times also has the good fortune to have Robert Feder and Ebert working there, both of whom are wonderful journalists and nice human beings.
