This new County Executive that we have who campaign promised not to raise county taxes is NOW talking about a significant raise in taxes for the already highly taxed area that we live in. Its not bad enough that Binghamton and surroundings have the highest tax base in the nation for a small area now we are going to get socked more taxes for Barbara Fiala, the County executives whims.
Since she has been in office Mrs. Fiala has purchased a golf course from a local municipality that can't afford the upkeep of the grounds. She also plans on using millions of dollars of our tax money to develop pie in the sky projects that will only inflate county taxes for years to come.
Promising to save the Country Residents hundreds of thousands of dollars the first order of Fiala's agenda was to hire her friends and remodel her office spending taxpayer money on new furniture, carpets, paint, computers and other unnecessesary items.
She also has access to the County Car which she uses not only for county business but for personal use costing us more money.
Her trips to Albany and other areas for business reasons have been frequent with we taxpayers picking up the tab, and her self serving agenda deals with having Inaugural Balls, Golf Tournaments and Big Celebrations at the expense of the taxpayer.
This county executive refuses to move the Dept of Social Services located across the street from Our High School despite the outrage from area residents who all agree Social Services should not be relocated across from our High School Students because of the negative message it carries to our children.
Its politics as usual with another political party at the helm so the spending will continue and young families, middle aged residents and senior citizens will soon be forced to move from the area, forced out of their homes by the increased cost of government spending.
Shame on Mrs. Fiala who was suppose to be the champion of the underdog after years of putting up with Money Pocket Stuffing Republicans in office.
She lied to the people of Broome County when she told us our taxes would not increase.
