Boston has really cornered the market on homemade ice cream (I humbly say) and Herrell's is a perfect example. They have the old standbys here as well as a few more exotic attempts, but mainly they specialize in your chocolate and oreo and black raspberry and sweet cream. They also have chocolate covered bananas on a stick, and they're better than I anticipated. Lots of toppings, efficient staff, and a long long line in summer that feels congenial rather than taxing.
