The Firestone winery was quite the place to visit. They have free tours, three a day, and they have great price on their wine which tastes great.
On the tour you will learn about the Firestone family and how they started the winery and brewing company. You will get to see grapes on the vine and you can get as close as you want but no touching. They walk you through a simplified tour and explanation of the wine making process, and you get to peek into the families private collecting room.
The staff is all very friendly and helpful.
While we were there we also learned that you can have a wedding or a party at the vineyard. They had a scrapbook of weddings and photos of people who had their wedding at the Firestone vineyard. It would be a very romantic wedding, probably ideal for 50 or less guests.
If you are ever in the Santa Maria valley, get information about the Foxen Canyon wine trail, the Firestone winery is on this trail and the little brochure has a great easy to follow map.
